Music Buying Is On The Rise
The last time the industry looked like it was doing anything good was now six years ago, it would seem it is happening again. Is there any specific reason for this or are artists picking up their electric guitars and actually doing something decent?
Although in my personal opinion I think the amount of trashy artists coming into the charts has increased over the past six years, how have sales increased?. These kind of artists are just trash and why people listen to the music is beyond me. However it would seem that the key reason the industry has seen such a growth is because people have started to realise that music downloading illegally is really being cracked down upon.
This has lead to something very surprising in the world of music. It is because of this that a massive increase in sales when it comes to singles has occurred in 2009, people are either too scared to download illegal music or simply do not want to because they know that it doesn’t help the artist that they actually like. The sales have risen massively by 50% to earn £154 million, a truly amazing figure. Major artists like Taylor Swift and the infamous Lady Gaga have really helped boost up the industry last year as they appeal to everyone.
It would seem that overall the album sales are actually going to continue falling which means if you do not have a catchy single you do not have much chance at succeeding at the moment because singles are cheaper than albums.
On the other hand a massive 4.2 million singles were actually sold in the last week of 2009 alone which is simply astounding.
Perhaps this will encourage people to pick up those acoustic guitars or plain ordinary guitars, then again, perhaps not.
So there you have it, like the songs or not it would seem the industry is back on the rise again!
